After being neglected for many years this century home was purchased by clients who asked that we bring it up to current functionality and aesthetic standards while staying true to it’s original style.
The tiny partitions that had been jammed into the narrow entry hall long after original construction were removed to greatly increase functionality and traffic flow throughout the main floor. All carpet was removed to reveal the original hardwood beneath, which was then resurfaced rather than replaced. Original cast iron vent grilles and trim was reused to the extent possible.
The kitchen was relocated within the house and an addition was designed and built at the back of the home for a sitting area with a view of the treed back yard. The main bath was gutted and updated with a large tiled shower and one of the bedrooms was converted into a spacious master en suite.
