This simple 1000 square foot ranch-style home was desperate for attention. Fortunately it possessed that critical mid-century appeal and potential, clearly visible despite the orange shag carpet, ineffective kitchen, oppressive dark paneling and compartmentalized common areas. If you're feeling brave, view pre-ReDesign images of the home here.
The brief? To create a modern, open, and very livable, value-driven space for a wee family of three. A worthy quest, to be sure.
A crisp modern space was achieved on a minimalist budget by coercing inexpensive building materials to perform in unexpected ways, responsibly reusing existing materials, and by specifying new materials with restraint.
