Doon Residence

In a desperate bid to rid their condo of it’s generic, ill-functioning kitchen our Doon Residence clients requested a sleek space with punches of vibrant colour to take it’s place. To initiate the process and to maximize the effect, the wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed, creating a space more conducive to entertaining.

Beautifully uniform Marmoleoum flooring from Forbo’s Dutch design collection provides the platform for the re-imagined kitchen. Marmoleum is made from linseed oil, natural rosins, wood flour, pigments and jute, almost none of which can be recognized in the final product. A brilliantly sustainable material that also possesses functional practicality (think easy cleanup) and pleasing minimalist aesthetics.

Cabinetry by Martin Jesko combines a white painted finish with the natural beauty of walnut, including a walnut accent reveal just below the countertop on all white cabinets. White quartz countertops, including waterfall returns to the floor on the island and peninsula and the white faucet contribute to the clean feel of the space while the raised eating pedestal adds a punch of pattern.
