By combining synthetic surfaces with the natural warmth of wood, a clean minimalist space was achieved without the perceived coldness that modern interior design is often accused of. ‘A place for everything and everything in it’s place’ is our mantra when designing millwork, and is vividly demonstrated in the island and shelving unit displayed.
Designed elements included: a kitchen island complete with concealed, pullout bar stools, a raised eating bar clad in a sustainable reconstituted ‘teak’ veneer, and a PaperStone (recycled paper) counter top; a painted shelving unit with a ‘teak’ sliding panel to conceal an additional center storage area; the Tetris Cabinet; and, a coffee table constructed of the same wormy chestnut wood.
