Our goal for the 2010 London Home Show was to induce just a little shock’n'awe (best pronounced as a single word). We made a conscious effort to depart from our typical design process and aesthetic when designing this en suite bathroom concept space. The end result was definitely more ‘Alice in Wonderland’ than minimalist.
By beginning with some seriously progressive plumbing fixtures supplied by our collaborator, London Bath Centre we set the tone for the greater space. An integral shower unit was suspended from a slatted wall with the theoretical drain set below a matching slatted floor grid set into the tile floor. An artful custom towel rack was finished to match our favourite faucet ever.
This was not a space that appealed to a broad audience, and that was the point. It was, in the end, a unique space that need only appeal to one fictitious client. An ideal solution crafted for one mad hatter.
