A designed project to be built during the winter/spring of 2012, the Rideau House project consisted of an exterior (backyard) design and interior (second floor) design. The CAD renderings below depict the backyard and en suite bath designs.
Working around the home’s existing exterior finishes the new rear yard design largely addressed functionality. Practicality demanded replacement of the old school second level deck railing with a glass alternative. Beyond that, the space, centered around the existing pool will focus on entertaining. Existing brown brick retaining walls will be clad in corten steel, raised platform decks installed for the lounge and games areas, a shade sail hoisted… for shade, and a large round ecopaver firepit seating area set at the far side of the pool, next to the ravine. Overall, an outdoor party paradise. Is it 5 o’clock yet?
The second floor design addresses several finish challenges throughout the entire second floor but focuses primarily on the redesign of the en suite and main bathrooms.
