When the owners of Nate’s Shawarma, a long-time fixture in London, Canada’s Covent Garden Market, weren’t thrilled with the preliminary design concept as presented, we suggested a somewhat irregular ‘plan b’. Rather than simply adjusting the initial concept, we offered to develop a second, entirely unique front-of-house concept if we could then allow local Londoners to cast their vote.
After obtaining somewhat reluctant agreement, a second concept was developed and ultimately pitted against the first in a public poll. Both concepts are depicted below, but after more than 140 votes, it was Concept 2 that came out on top and will ultimately be constructed.
