Our initial visit to the facilities of the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology left us with the greatest sense of brand disconnect that we have ever experienced. Initial exposure to OIART was gleaned via their website, which has the dark, brooding feel that we expected of a sound studio. Unfortunately, the appearance of the facility was so far removed from the otherwise projected brand that it really was jarring.
Fortunately, the Directors of OIART were painfully aware of the brand disconnect and realized that they could no longer ignore the problem. They charged us with a branding realignment within their facilities and we leapt at the opportunity to vanquish the 80′s vibe that had remained decades beyond.
A moody interior was achieved through the use of deep colour and controlled lighting throughout. The institute’s brand mark was displayed prominently in the lobby as a beacon to prospective students.
