Our own offices presented us with another opportunity to pursue our forever quest to yield maximum design impact as economically as possible. A leased space, exorbitant investment wasn’t in the cards, so we set out to craft a highly functional space on a restrained budget.
Ground and sealed concrete replaced carpet, while the original standard 2’x4′ ceiling tile grid was given a creative jolt via recycled content, origami-like, three dimensional ceiling tiles. Extremely basic keyless light fixtures treated with over-sized, chrome-dipped bulbs provide a creative and effective lighting solution throughout the space.
Additional elements include: a custom meeting/display table with a magnetic, dry-erase top surface; a large magnetic wall display board created with magnetic paint; felt-covered doors and art, used to dampen sound and provide texture; and a shelving unit made with raw scaffolding planks and steel plumbing pipe.
